Studio Policies

We’ve recently changed our policies to better serve both our new clients and long-time members.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these new policies as they pertain to our available services and class purchases. Please note that these policies are subject to change, and all such changes will be posted to this page, along with their effective date(s).

Cancellation Policy

Classes
Due to the limited amount of spaces per class, all regularly scheduled classes have a 6-hour cancellation policy, if the 6-hour notice is not given the client will be charged for the class as if she or he had attended.

Workshops
All workshops have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Most of our workshops are taught by traveling and guest instructors, and it is essential we have sufficient notice as some instructors require a minimum number of attendees.

Privates, Duos, Trios, and Group Events
All private bookings require a minimum of 24-hour notice to cancel, and all reservation deposits for these appointments are non-refundable. For more details please see our purchase and refund policy below.

Courtesy Reservations
We will reserve class spots for clients who call the studio if they prefer to pay for their services by cash or check. The same cancellation policies apply for these reservations. Clients are responsible for any late cancellations or no-show visits for any friends they sign up through their account or share their class cards with. In the event of a late cancellation or no-show visit, clients will be required to pay for that visit before reserving space in another class.

Class & Studio Policy

Studio Attire
All aerial classes require clients to remove shoes and jewelry, as these can damage the fabric of the hammocks. We recommend clients wear comfortable but form fitting clothing, in light weight and breathable cotton fabrics. Loose clothing can ride up and get tangled in the hammocks. Because the silk has some slip to it and the wraps facilitate detoxification, we recommend clients avoid spandex or similar shiny or non-breathable materials. We ask that all clients be mindful of others in class in regards to their dress and appearance.

Class Arrival
Due to required hammock adjustments, late arrivals are disruptive to the flow of class and disrespectful to clients who arrive on time. Clients must arrive to class on time, and late students will be denied entry to class and charged as if they had attended.  A 5 minute grace period is provided for intro, beginner, and open level yoga classes.  If you arrive during the grace period and class has already started, please enter the studio quietly and wait until you are addressed by the instructor to enter. There is no grace period provided for advanced classes, dance, or circus, as it is dangerous to allow latecomers to participate when they have not completed the necessary warm-up exercises with the rest of class. Weekends are our busiest time, and we kindly ask that clients arrive five minutes early to class so that we are able to accommodate walk-in guests. Please keep this in mind when coming to the studio for the first time and allow yourself adequate time to find the studio and parking.

Aerial Safety
Please listen and watch our instructors carefully as they demonstrate and explain important safety and comfort concerns with the wraps and in order for you to minimize your risk of injury in your practice. For the safety of all clients, clients who do not follow instruction or attempt to perform tricks or poses not being covered in class will be asked to leave and charged regularly for the class. We also recommend you do not chew gum during class, and especially not during inversions. For your own safety, you will not be permitted to participate in class if you appear intoxicated.

Reserving Class Space for Others
The studio does allow clients to sign up friends and family members for their convenience. Friends and family members signed up by clients are also expected to follow all studio policies.

Service and Kindness
We respectfully ask that clients treat each other with kindness and offer their support and service to their fellow aerialists and yogis in class whenever possible. Kaya Aerial Yoga is a safe and welcoming place for people of all races, sexes, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities, and teasing, bullying, gossiping, or other harmful behaviors are not tolerated. Please remember that we are all of different paths and at different places in our life journeys, and we all deserve to be treated with respect and compassion.

Liability Waivers
All clients must sign a waiver prior to attending class. Parents or legal guardians must sign a waiver for all clients under the age of 18.

Purchase & Refund Policy

Drop In and Class Card Expiration
All drop in class purchases are valid for a period of (30) days from the date of purchase. Class cards expire as follows: 5 class cards expire in (30) days; 10 class cards expire in (60) days; 25 class cards expire in (90) days. Gift cards purchased for dollar amounts do not expire, but promotional gift cards offered for a set number of classes expire according to the class card expiration dates previously listed. Promotional offers may have earlier expiration periods, and other terms and conditions may apply..

Membership and Class Card Transfers
Monthly memberships (contracts) are non-transferrable, but the studio does allow class cards, packages, and gift cards to be transferred as long as they are valid. Clients accepting transferred class and gift cards agree to the same terms and conditions of the original purchase. Please note that clients may need to contact the studio to register for this benefit, as our booking system requires additional information on file in the event the person you’re sharing with isn’t already a client.

Private Bookings & Non-Refundable Deposits
The deposit required for private, duo, trio and group classes, as well as multi-day intensive workshops and teacher training program fees are non-refundable. Introductory offers for privates, duos, and trios expire in (30) days. All other blocks of private instruction hours expire in (180) days.

Refundable Services and Purchases
Drop-in classes, class cards, workshop fees, and all other purchases are refundable only for a studio credit within (30) days from the date of purchase. No cash or credit card refunds will be granted – no exceptions. Credits requested after the (30) day period may be granted but are left to the sole discretion of the studio.

Membership Contract Termination
Memberships may be cancelled in the event of moving, financial, or medical necessity. The studio requires a minimum of (15) days notice to cancel contracts prior to the billing date, and such requests must be made in person at the studio or by email. Please remember we are only able to offer clients the significant discount in pricing memberships provide because of the time commitment these members make to the studio.  To prevent abuse of this cancellation policy, proof of relocation, financial burden, or unforeseen medical condition must be provided for consideration of early contract termination. Any such cancellations will be at the sole discretion of the studio, and an early termination fee of $159 may be applied.
